America del Sur

My preparations are going very well. I have already bought the ticket and the health insurance. I'm flying from Munich to Buenos Aires on 9th. August 2017. After I arrange some details, I'll be ready to set off. Next post entry will be from Argentina in two months and a half. ¡Hasta luego!

So my bike is already read for the trip

My first ride with my new bike. It's very comfortable but also very heavy with bags.

Hola,Hello,Hallo!!!!!

I've decided to write this blog both as a personal diary and to share with you, my friends, how I get on with my journey round South America. I'll do my best to keep the blog updated with information and photos.

My trip will start around 15th August. I'm going to fly from Munich or Salzburg to Buenos Aires where my bike journey will begin. My bike journey starts in Argentina. I'm going to cycle approximately 15000 kilometres, which will take me 8 months more or less. From Belem in Brazil to Foz do Iguazú I’ll travel by bus. My goal is to cycle through all the countries in South America. The highlights of my journey will be: crossing Salar de Uyuni- the biggest salt sea in the world, visiting Machu Pichu (only if I can go there by bike), cycling along a pass over 4800 over the sea level, crossing Guyana from Lethem to Georgetown- a very remote area through the jungle in Guyana and finally, visiting the Iguazú Falls.

The next posts will be about my preparations, especially my bike and things I must pack. In the map below you can sea the route I'm taking if everything goes as planned. Hasta Luego.
